the Yuot Family
Bern, Kim, Duany and Waragak had most recently been living in Omaha, Nebraska
where Bern served as the Pastor of South Sudanese Seventh-day Adventist
Church for seven years. He also served as an Employment Specialist
for the state of Nebraska under contract with Goodwill Industries, Inc.
While pastoring in Omaha, Bern received a master of arts degree in Biblical
Studies from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. He also received
a PhD in Social Services with concentration in International Studies from
Bernelli University in Alexanderia, Virginia.
When Dr. Bern completed his studies, he received a call
to become a missionary in the Middle East in June, 2006. He has been
called to serve as a departmental director at the Middle East Union of
Seventh-day Adventists based in Cyprus. Dr. Bern has accepted the
call to mission field and has completed the Institute of World Mission
at Andrews University, which is required to prepare him for the mission
work.
